The Appellate Section of the Barristers Club presents the First Annual Sandy Svetcov Memorial Lecture on Appellate Law and Practice.
This annual lecture and interview honors the memory of Sandy Svetcov, who was a pillar of the California appellate bar for forty years. Sandy’s practice stood for skill and gentility, and each year we ask a leading member of the appellate judiciary or bar to come and speak on effective advocacy, persuasive techniques, preferences and peccadillos, trends in the appellate courts, civility and ethical issues, and other aspects of modern appellate practice. The lecture will conclude with an interview of the guest about his or her experiences and the changing nature of the practice. We will also take questions from the audience.
