The New Parkway Theater
474 24th Street in Oakland
Admission is $10

Herman’s House (www.hermanshouse.org) is a powerful documentary that captures the creative journey and 12-year friendship of Herman Wallace, who spent more than 40 years in solitary confinement, and artist Jackie Sumell. What kind of house does a man who has been imprisoned in a six-foot-by-nine-foot cell for over 30 years dream of? Join us to find out. The screening will be followed by a discussion with former lifers in the California State Prison system.
